Program INFORMATION
Introducing an exciting new program that combines theoretical and experiential education to provide a one-of-a-kind Hospitality and Culinary training!
In partnership with George Brown College's Continuing Education Hospitality and Culinary Arts, participants will gain the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in today’s culinary and food industry.
Your culinary courses will be hybrid (online and in-kitchen) and require full attendance for 12 weeks. Classes are offered both during the day and in the evening. Please review the class hours and times for your Culinary Training and Employment Readiness to ensure they align with your schedule.
George Brown College On-Campus and Online Program Schedule:
On-Campus and In-Person: 60 hours (24 hours of evening classes from 6-10 pm and 36 hours in the morning from 9am-1pm)
Online Theoretical Training: 77 hours of online theoretical classes with GBC.
Dixon Hall Program on Employment Readiness:
You will be assigned to work with an employment advisor and participate in group workshops for 6 to 10 hours over the span of 12 months (both in-person and online) for resume preparation, job applications, and interview skills.
Online Certifications: You will have the option to participate in Food Handler and/or Smart Serve Certifications online.
Eligibility
To enroll in this program, participants must be:
18 years or older
Unemployed and currently seeking employment in the culinary and food industry
Legally able to work in Canada
Must be able to commit to the full 12-week program
